Here are some tips to keep in account when your baby is teething:
* Regularly clean your baby's face with a soft washcloth to remove excess slime and prevent skin irritation.
* Give your baby something to bite. Make sure it is large enough to prevent choking by wanting to swallow, nor can break into small fragments. A wet washcloth placed in the freezer for 30 minutes can be very useful when teeth are coming, be sure to wash each time after the baby is in use. The rubber rings are sold to help children with teething are also good, but avoid containing liquid inside because they may break or leak in any way. If you use a teething ring, be sure to remove it from the refrigerator before it becomes rock hard. Sure you do not want to cause more damage in your baby's gums, swollen enough already!
* Rub your baby's gums with a clean finger.
* Never tie the neck of your baby a teething ring, and could get stuck on something and strangle a child.
* If your baby seems irritable, acetaminophen (paracetamol) may help, but always check with your pediatrician. Never put aspirin on the teeth your baby or rub the gums with alcohol.
